Anime is still enjoying increasing popularity in America, and nothing proves that more than the upcoming anime adaptation of one of America’s favorite heroes: Batman!

io9.com has a pretty lengthy video preview of Batman: Gotham Knight, a direct-to-DVD release that will follow the release of the highly anticipated Batman: The Dark Knight movie. The folks at DC took a surprising turn with this release, recruiting Japanese anime directors and studios to do the animation. It’s all very reminiscent of the Animatrix DVD that supplemented the Matrix movies.
