IGN: Rebuilding Neon Genesis Evangelion
My latest IGN post covers four things that we’d like to see out of the Rebuild of Evangelion films. This one’s bound to stir up a little controversy! Flame suit, on!
From the article:
For those of you that didn’t know, there’s a new Evangelion movie out in a few Asian countries. No, it’s not available for commercial release in North America yet (and nobody knows when that’ll happen), but it is still causing quite a stir with Eva fans all over the world. The movie, Evangelion: 1.0 You are (Not) Alone, is the first installment of a series of movies called Rebuild of Evangelion that will retell the story of the groundbreaking anime that we all already know. The problem is, well…we already know the anime.
We’ve compiled a short list of a few things we’d like to see (and not see) in the upcoming Rebuild of Evangelion films. These are things that we think can really help this 13-year old franchise re-establish its place at the top of the anime industry, and finally quiet the long debates about its quality.

This was a fun one to write. The first movie in the new batch of Eva films hasn’t seen a North American release yet, and it only covers the beginning of the storyline, so there was plenty of speculatin’ to do. I’m very eager to hear what others have to say about these movies. :icon_cool:
