PlayStation network gets Xam’d anime

Sony talked A LOT about their new plans to offer a crapload of shows on the PlayStation network today in their E3 media conference. One of the big pieces of news for us anime fans was the official announcement that Sony has partnered with Bones Studio to release an anime called Xam’d: Lost Memories exclusively on the PS network.

Xam’d (known as Bonen no Xamdou in Japan) is a full 26 episode mecha anime series being developed by Bones Studio, who worked on Eureka Seven and Full Metal Alchemist, along with a bunch of other anime. There were rumors back at the beginning of July about the news, but many were speculating that it would be a new game. Instead, you’ll be able to download the whole series to your PS3 and PSP game systems.

No word on an availability date yet, but the prices for North American customers will be $2.99 for regular quality vids and $3.99 for HD. Below you can find the official trailer for the show:
