I’m really late on this one, but while trolling about I found that there will be a new Highlander-based anime coming out this May. It’s even directed by famed Ninja Scroll director Yoshiaki Kawajiri. The Highlander series has had its ups and downs, but an anime version still intrigues me.

The apparent storyline:

The story takes place in the future city of New York that is submerged in water starring Colin MacLeod, the immortal Scottish Highlander. With his ghost Amergan, they seek to find Marcus Octavius who has killed Colin’s lover centuries ago in the Celtic plains. Now living in a dominant fortress that towers over the sea, will MacLeod help the tortured people of New York or seek vengeance for his lover’s death?

COLIN MacLeod? So first Connor then Duncan now Colin? Lots of immortals in that clan, must be something in the water.

Althought there is much opportunity for suckage here, the story is being written by the same guy that wrote the series and the upcoming new Highlander live-action film, so it’ll at least be cohesive. Here’s hoping they don’t screw it up. :icon_cool:

Look for Highlander: Vengeance on DVD in May.
